With the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, China's transportation infrastructure companies continue to go overseas to help local infrastructure construction. On July 29, Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng video met with Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Rana Faris. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern. Li Minggang, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait, Li Tianbi, Chief Engineer of the Ministry and Director of the Water Transport Bureau, and Xu Chengguang, Chief Planner of the Ministry and Director of the Comprehensive Planning Department, attended the video meeting.

Li Xiaopeng pointed out that in recent years, transportation infrastructure cooperation has gradually become the focus and priority area of bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and Kuwait. The Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China supports the operation and development of Chinese transportation companies in the country and cooperation with local companies. We are willing to work with the transportation authorities of the United States to actively implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and help the transportation cooperation between the two countries reach a new level.

Faris said that Kochi and China have been friendly for a long time and are willing to strengthen communication and exchanges with the Ministry of Transport of China and deepen practical cooperation. Chinese companies are welcome to continue to participate in the construction of the transportation infrastructure of Kota Kinabalu, and jointly promote the progress of projects such as the Greater Mubarak Port.
