Recently, the No. 8 and No. 10 tunnels of the Yawan High-speed Railway have been fully connected. So far, 10 of the 13 tunnels of Indonesia's Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail line have been completed, laying a solid foundation for the completion and opening of the entire line.

The Yawan High-speed Railway No. 8 tunnel is located in Xikalong Town, West Wanlong County, with a total length of 2,190 meters and a maximum buried depth of about 95 meters. It is the second longest tunnel on the entire line. The tunnel was constructed by China Railway Third Bureau, a member of the Chinese construction consortium led by China Railway International Corporation. According to the person in charge of the project, during the construction process, the complex geological conditions of the volcanic accumulation layer and a series of problems such as the under-passing of existing railways and highways have been overcome. Six excavation work surfaces were used for simultaneous construction, and advanced geological forecasting and monitoring were adopted. The monitoring system and the strict implementation of the craftsmanship method effectively ensure the progress of the tunnel construction and the safety of the existing railways and highways underneath.

Tunnel No. 10, which was also constructed by the company, is located in Padalalang Town, West Bandung County, with a total length of 1,230 meters. The surface of the tunnel is mainly distributed in paddy fields, and the exit is in villages and towns. The maximum buried depth is 37 meters. The tunnel underlies the existing operating railway at the entrance section, which has high safety risks and difficult construction. The construction company has overcome many problems such as shallow burial depth and poor geology, the old narrow gauge railway underneath the existing railway, which is extremely easy to deform and difficult to control, and the traffic volume is large, and the construction safety risk is high, so as to ensure the construction progress and safety.
