The Libu Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge project has been included in the National "Yangtze River Main Line Crossing Channel Layout Plan (2020-2035)", and is listed as one of the 79 river crossing channels in China that will be implemented before 2025.

The bridge site is located in the Jingjiang River section of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It adopts a double-layer road-rail joint construction scheme. The upper layer is planned to be a 6-lane expressway, and the lower layer is a dual-line high-speed railway and 4-lane 207 national road rerouting. The total project investment is estimated to be 10.47 billion yuan. , The construction period is about 4.5 years.

Zhou Zhihong emphasized that the construction of the Libu Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge is an important project to promote the development of Jingzhou across the river and build a regional central city.
