On August 14, 2021, the Apia Port upgrade project in Samoa undertaken by China Harbor held a groundbreaking ceremony. Samoan Prime Minister Fiame Naomi, Church Minister Mori, Minister of Engineering, Transport and Infrastructure Olo, and Port Authority Director Suaro attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Prime Minister Fiame Naomi stated that the implementation of the project will improve the operational efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability of Apia Port. Upgrading the existing breakwater can enhance the ability to deal with climate change and severe storms.

Apia Port Upgrade Project

The Apia Port upgrade project in Samoa won the bid on December 22, 2020. The main work content of the project includes three parts: breakwater reconstruction, yard pavement upgrade, and supporting buildings.

This project is China Harbour's first bid in Samoa, and it is also another breakthrough in the South Pacific island market. The winning of the project is conducive to further expanding the influence of the company's brand in the South Pacific island country.

Samoa is located in the southern Pacific Ocean, west of the Samoan Islands, and consists of two main islands, Sawai and Upolu, and seven small islands. Most of the territory is covered by jungle.
