At 20:40 on August 23, 2021, the main span of the Fuxia High-speed Railway Taichengxi Bridge, which weighs 38,000 tons, was rotated 40 degrees clockwise and successfully completed the swivel docking, marking China's first high-speed rail large-tonnage unbalanced swivel The cable-stayed bridge closed smoothly.

The Fuxia High-speed Railway is China's first cross-sea high-speed railway with a total length of 277.42 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Taichengxi Bridge is located in Jingyang Town, Fuqing City, with a total length of 728.13 meters. It is a key control project for the entire line.

The main span of the Taichengxi Bridge crosses the busy Shenhai Expressway horizontally, with a total length of 221.3 meters and a total weight of 38,000 tons. In order to ensure the normal traffic of Shenhai Expressway and restricted by geographical conditions, the bridge is designed as an unbalanced rotating cable-stayed bridge. At the same time, the design length of the beams on both sides of the bridge pylon is different. One side is 95.5 meters long and the other side is 125.7 meters long. The cantilever weight of the bridges on both sides differs by 570 tons. The construction process must be completed in one step, which is extremely difficult.

In order to ensure that the bridge can be turned in motion, stable and accurate, the builders have successively developed and applied a number of technologies. They use tetrafluoroethylene sheets to reduce the friction of the bridge when turning, and at the same time use electronic levels at the slides to ensure that the accuracy of the closure reaches the millimeter level and achieve precise docking. With the closure of the main span of the Taichengxi Bridge, the construction of the Fuxia High-speed Railway has entered the sprint stage.

The Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway is an important part of the coastal passage in China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" railway network, starting from Fuzhou in the north, passing Putian, and reaching Xiamen and Zhangzhou in the south. After the completion of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed rail, Fuzhou and Xiamen will realize the "one-hour living circle", and the southeast coastal city cluster will connect a tourism "golden belt" to inject new momentum into the economic development of the regions along the route.
