As a friendly and good-neighborly trade and economic exchange between China and Russia, the requirements for transportation construction are quite high. On August 27, the 25th meeting of the Transport Cooperation Sub-Committee of the Regular Meeting of the Prime Ministers of China and Russia was held by video. Entrusted by the Ministers of Transport of the two countries, Dai Dongchang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport of China, and Zverev, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, co-chaired the meeting. The five working groups of the Transport Cooperation Sub-Committee, including railways, automobile transportation and highways, sea canal transportation, civil aviation, and ports, respectively made work reports. The two parties had in-depth exchanges on further promoting pragmatic cooperation in the field of transportation. After the meeting, the two parties signed the minutes of the 25th meeting of the Transport Cooperation Sub-Committee. Representatives from China's Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, National Railway Administration, and Civil Aviation Administration of China attended the meeting.

Dai Dongchang pointed out that the Transport Cooperation Sub-Committee is an important cooperation mechanism in the field of transportation between the two countries. The Ministry of Transport of China and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation make full use of this platform to promote positive progress in various cooperation. Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the downward pressure on the global economy has increased, but under the guidance of the regular meeting mechanism between the Chinese and Russian prime ministers, the Transport Cooperation Sub-Committee and its working groups have been active in promoting transport infrastructure interconnection, transport facilitation, and technological innovation. Work has been carried out, and China-Russia transportation cooperation has yielded fruitful results: rapid growth of railway container traffic; Heihe Highway Bridge and Tongjiang Railway Bridge are fully completed; Beidou-Glonass system continues to deepen its application in the field of international road transportation; Boundary River container transportation routes are developing steadily ; Arctic shipping cooperation continues to deepen; border ports maintain efficient operation.

Dai Dongchang said that comprehensively deepening China-Russia cooperation in the field of transportation is of great significance to ensuring the stability and smooth flow of the logistics supply chain of the two countries and supporting and serving the economic and social development of the two countries. In the face of the severe global challenge posed by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the relevant departments of China and Russia of the Transport Cooperation Sub-Committee will continue to work hand in hand to strengthen cooperation, and strive to continuously achieve new leaps in China-Russia transportation cooperation and jointly create a better future.

Zverev appreciates China's efforts to promote China-Russia transportation cooperation, saying that Russia will further strengthen communication and exchanges with China to push China-Russia transportation cooperation to a new level. Zverev spoke highly of the active efforts made by both parties to promote the completion of the Heihe Highway Bridge and the Tongjiang Railway Bridge, and expressed willingness to strengthen the two parties' cooperation in transportation under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Dai Dongchang conveyed Minister Li Xiaopeng's invitation to Russia to attend the second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference. Before the meeting, Dai Dongchang and Zverev held small-scale talks and fully exchanged views on key issues of mutual concern. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
