On August 27, 2021, Shavkat Mirziyoev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the Navoi 100 MW photovoltaic power plant contracted by Shandong Power Construction No. 3 EPC, and closed the power gate, the first photovoltaic power plant in Uzbekistan. The power station was officially connected to the grid for power generation.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the grid-connected power generation of the power station is the first step taken by Uzbekistan's new energy system, marking a new stage in the development of the industry. Uzbekistan's new energy accelerates development

The Republic of Uzbekistan is located in Central Asia. In 2019, the country implemented power industry reforms, vigorously develops domestic photovoltaic and other new energy projects, and plans to achieve solar power generation by 2030, with an additional 5 gigawatts of installed capacity, in order to regulate the balanced development of domestic energy .

On September 24, 2020, Shandong Power Construction No. 3 Co., Ltd., with its professional EPC project operation capabilities and strong strength, signed the first photovoltaic project implemented after the implementation of the Uzbek’s new energy reform national policy-Navo by EPC general contracting. 100MW photovoltaic power station project in Iraq.

The power station is located 5 kilometers west of Uzumzor community in Navoi state, covers an area of 267 hectares, installs 298,928 solar panels, and can generate 2.52 million kWh per year. The project will also help to create a market of at least US$1 billion per year for local manufacturers and form an electrical cluster. It is a power station project that integrates Uzbekistan’s new energy strategy and people’s livelihood and economic development.
