On the morning of September 1, 2021, the world's largest public-rail dual-purpose steel truss cable-stayed bridge-Chongqing Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge was successfully closed.

The Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge has a total length of 1384 meters and is a key project in Chongqing, connecting Chongqing Dadukou District and Banan District. The pylons of the bridge adopt the shape of water droplets, which means "a drop of water merges into the Yangtze River".

Since the Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge spans the Yangtze River, sufficient space must be reserved under the bridge deck to ensure the unimpeded flow of the golden waterway of the Yangtze River. Therefore, the bridge is designed as a steel truss girder cable-stayed bridge with a main span of more than 600 meters, making it the world's largest span public and rail dual-purpose steel truss cable-stayed bridge. The main tower of the bridge is 236 meters high, which also created the highest record for the main tower of the bridge in the central city of Chongqing.

The upper layer of the Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge is a 38-meter two-way eight-lane urban expressway, and the lower layer is the river crossing channel of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 18. The bridge is expected to be completed and opened to traffic at the end of 2021. Editor/Xia Changwang
