On August 31, the external power supply project of the China-Laos Railway was completed. The overall line of the project is 936.8 kilometers long, divided into China section and Laos section, respectively invested by China Southern Power Grid Corporation and Laozhong Electric Power Investment Company for construction and operation and maintenance.
The Chinese section newly builds 3 220 kV switch stations and 35 220 kV lines to provide reliable power for 14 traction substations; the Laos section builds 20 new 115 kV lines, and expands 11 115 kV substation intervals. Ten electrified railway traction substations are connected to the Lao National Grid.
