Build a benchmark port along the Belt and Road

The New Port of Haifa is located in Haifa on the southeastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, facing the port of Piraeus in Greece across the sea. It is an important port city. Haifa Port is the transportation and industrial center in northern Israel and a railway hub along the Mediterranean Sea. It occupies an important position in the international shipping landscape and is also an important node port along the Belt and Road. Six years ago, SIPG responded to the Belt and Road Initiative. After fierce bidding, it stood out from many international competitors and obtained the right to operate the Haifa New Port Terminal. In 2018, it launched the port construction project. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases, and the current phase one has been completed. The shoreline length of the first phase terminal is 805.5 meters, and the annual design throughput is 1.06 million TEU; the second phase terminal shoreline length is 715.7 meters, and the annual design throughput is 800,000 TEU.
