On December 4, 2019, the world's largest tonnage offshore floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) P70, which was independently integrated and built by China, was officially delivered to the Brazilian owner in Qingdao. This is the largest, most complicated, The most technically demanding FPSO projects. In May 2015, CNOOC undertook the detailed design, procurement, construction of some modules, transportation of the two FPSO "sister ships" of the Brazilian National Petroleum Corporation P67 and P70, as well as the integration, commissioning, towing and delivery of the entire ship. . On May 16, 2018, P67 was successfully delivered to Brazil in Qingdao, setting a precedent for China's independent integration and successful delivery of world-class ultra-large FPSO. As the "sister ship" of the P67, the P70 delivered this time is highly similar to the "sister" in appearance, size and ability, and they are comparable to the "twin" in the FPSO world.

FPSO Super Offshore Engineering

FPSO is a comprehensive large-scale offshore production facility that integrates oil and gas production processing, storage and external transportation, and personnel and living systems. It is called the "offshore oil plant" and is the mainstream production device for today's offshore oil and gas field development. As a veritable high-tech product in global offshore oil development projects, FPSO is currently mainly manufactured by major offshore equipment manufacturing nations such as South Korea, Japan, and China. Its design and construction reflect a country's industrial level and the comprehensive capacity of offshore oil development.

P70 is another world-class FPSO manufactured and manufactured by Chinese enterprises after the successful delivery of P67 in 2018. In 2015, Chinese companies became the bidders for the two projects P67 and P70, with full responsibility for all links from design, procurement, construction to integration and commissioning. The P70 has a total length of more than 300 meters and a total width of about 74 meters. The deck area is equivalent to 3 standard football fields, and its volume exceeds that of the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning. On the P70 deck, there are as many as 17 functional modules distributed, with a maximum weight of more than 2,600 tons. A total of 45,000 tons of steel have been used for building materials, and 1.5 million meters of cables have been laid, which is longer than the distance from Beijing to Shanghai. In order to speed up the construction progress, a Chinese company organized a project team of nearly 1,000 people to carry out public relations, completed more than 190 technical innovations and technological innovations, and completed the construction period 90 days in advance, setting a new record for the construction of this facility in China.

China's high-end offshore projects accelerate overseas

In recent years, large-scale facilities such as Chinese railways and nuclear power have gone abroad, and have been widely recognized by the international community for their high cost performance. The successful delivery of P70 after P67 highlights the overall strength of China's high-end offshore engineering field, making large-scale offshore production facilities another "shiny business card" made in China. At the same time, the "go global" of high-end manufacturing facilities such as the P70 also pushed the concept and standards of Chinese manufacturing to the world, effectively enhanced China's global voice, and laid a good foundation for continuing to develop the international market.

At present, the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative is moving towards a stage of high-quality development, and the capacity cooperation between China and the countries along the route is gradually expanding in depth. Latin America, Africa and other regions are rich in offshore oil and gas resources. In recent years, countries have been racing to expand offshore oil and gas businesses, and have high demand for large-scale offshore oil and gas production equipment such as FPSO. P70 has a maximum oil storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels, a daily output of 150,000 barrels of crude oil, and a daily natural gas processing capacity of 6 million cubic meters. It can process 15 million tons of crude oil per year, which is equivalent to 1/4 of the oil and gas production capacity of Daqing Oilfield. After the P70 is put into use, it will not only help Brazil to further enhance its oil and gas development capabilities and consolidate China-Pakistan energy development cooperation, but also help China's large-scale equipment participate in the development of offshore resources in more countries, and enhance China's energy cooperation with the countries along the Belt and Road . The dual delivery of P67 and P70 "sister ships" will not only build a bridge of friendship for strategic cooperation between China and Brazil in the energy sector, but also further strengthen China's cooperation with the countries along the Belt and Road in the energy field and help China's offshore equipment manufacturing The industry has accelerated the pace of "going global".
