On August 31, 2021, the Kenyatta Road Project in Malawi contracted and constructed by China Civil Engineering Group Co., Ltd. officially held a groundbreaking ceremony. Malawi President Lazarus Chakwila attended the ceremony and unveiled the project. , Malawi’s Ministry of Transport, Highway Bureau, and supervision units attended the meeting.

Chakvila listened to the project introduction in detail and fully affirmed the preliminary preparations for the project. He said that the project can effectively alleviate the urban congestion problem in Lilongwe. In the future, the government will continue to increase investment in infrastructure construction. He also hopes that China's civil engineering will be delivered on time.

The Kenyatta Road Project in Malawi is located in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. The main construction content is to widen Sara Street and Kenyatta Road and upgrade the existing two-lane roads to six-lane asphalt concrete roads.
