Win-win cooperation between China and Africa

Adesina said that there are more than 10,000 Chinese companies in Africa. Chinese companies invested in ceramic tile factories in Kenya, invested in shoe, leather, clothing and pharmaceutical factories in Ethiopia, and established a joint venture truck assembly plant in Nigeria. They created a large number of jobs, provided technical training and technology transfer, and promoted economic diversification in Africa.

Adesina said that the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has become a powerful platform for China-Africa cooperation. He highly appreciated the Chinese President Xi Jinping's pledge in 2018 to provide Africa with US$60 billion in financing, saying that this will help the African continent to achieve rapid economic transformation. The African Development Bank is pleased to work closely with Chinese companies in the field of infrastructure. The US$2 billion African Common Growth Fund provided by China to the African Issuance has provided co-financing for major infrastructure in several African countries.

Adesina said that China has provided great support to Africa's fight against the epidemic and helped Africa's economic recovery after the epidemic. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, China has sent medical personnel to Africa, provided huge amounts of anti-epidemic materials and equipment assistance, and provided vaccines to many African countries. As the second largest economic power in the world, China will continue to be a strong partner of Africa and play a key role in the process of economic development and recovery in Africa.

In the future, China-Africa cooperation will only be strengthened, not weakened. With the cooperation in the digital economy to help Africa achieve poverty reduction, medical cooperation to prevent and control infectious diseases, and agricultural technology cooperation to ensure food security, the importance of China-Africa cooperation has become more and more prominent.
