On September 3, 2021, CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. signed the EPC contract for the Iraqi Kirkuk Refinery Project. The signing and implementation of the project will lay a solid foundation for CITIC Construction's further development in the core oil and gas market in Iraq.
Kirkuk Oil Refinery is located in Kirkuk Province, Iraq. The scale of the project is to process 75,000 barrels of crude oil per day (about 3.5 million tons of crude oil per year). The products are gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene, and fuel oil that meet Euro 5 standards. , LPG, road asphalt, etc. The EPC contract value of the project is US$905 million, and the construction period is 46 months. As the EPC general contractor of the project, CITIC Construction will be responsible for project design, procurement, construction, commissioning, etc., and assist the owner in solving part of the financing. After the project is completed, it will become an important support for the Iraqi oil refining industry destroyed by the war, and contribute to the country's self-sufficiency in refined oil products and foreign exchange earning through exports.
