Recently, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his entourage went to the construction site of the F3 bidding project of Georgia’s E60 Expressway undertaken by China Road and Bridge to conduct inspections.

Garibashivili listened to the report on the overall construction progress of the project on site, checked the construction of Bridge No. 7, and gave affirmation and gratitude to China Road and Bridge for overcoming the impact of the epidemic and advancing the project construction and engineering quality in an orderly manner. Garibashvili emphasized that the Georgia E60 highway project is the largest and most complex project in Georgia's history, and it is a century-long project. He hopes that all the builders will continue to work hard to achieve full-scale integration as soon as possible.

Georgia’s E60 highway connects the capital Tbilisi to the port city of Batumi, and runs through the east and west of Georgia. It is an important section of the Asia-Europe traffic arterial line. After completion, it will greatly alleviate the traffic pressure on the existing section of E60 and greatly shorten Tbilisi. The passenger and freight time in Batumi and Poti will increase employment opportunities, which is of great significance to the development of Georgia and the region. The F3 standard line constructed by China Road and Bridge has a total length of 13.05km, two-way four-lane, and a design speed of 100km/h. The terrain of the project passing area is dominated by mountainous terrain, the terrain is steep, and the bridge-tunnel ratio of the whole line is 76.7%, which is the most critical section of the E60 expressway project.

This inspection demonstrated Georgia’s importance and concern for the project, and encouraged the morale of the construction team of the Chinese road and bridge project. The staff of the E60 Expressway F3 Project Department will continue to work hard to successfully complete the construction tasks and create a landmark project for China-Georgia cooperation and the construction of the Belt and Road.
