Logistics operator DP World will invest 300 million euros ($414.8 million) to build a fourth berth at the gateway hub in London. The Dubai company said in a statement that the project will start in October 2021, with the aim of increasing the production capacity of large ships.

"As the central pillar of the Thames Freeport, the new fourth berth at the London Gateway will enable more customers to benefit from world-class ports and logistics." said DP World Chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Surayam.

The London Gateway is operated by DP World and is a port within the Port of London. It opened in 2013. The Chancellor of the Exchequer Sunak said that the Thames Freeport will "build a national center for trade, innovation and business and attract investment."
