On September 15, 2021, with a whistle buzzing, the first Hunan-Guangdong-Africa-railway-sea intermodal train departed from CRRC's logistics base in Zhuzhou, Hunan. The train carrying about 1,935 tons of grain will be transported by rail from Zhuzhou to Nansha Port, and then by sea. It is expected to arrive at Mombasa Port in Kenya on October 15.

It is reported that COSCO SHIPPING will issue the entire rail-sea combined transport bill of lading for the first train, and the customs will guide enterprises to adopt the integrated customs clearance model of Zhuzhou customs declaration and Nansha inspection and release, and vigorously promote facilitation measures such as pre-declaration and 24-hour overtime appointment.

Break the bottleneck of non-logistics

As an innovative move to create a China-Africa international logistics channel system, the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa-rail-sea combined transport channel is an important channel for logistics to Africa in the central and western regions of China and the whole country. "The entire logistics channel realizes the entire bill of lading, one ticket to the end. The first phase covers 11 hub seaports in Africa and 20 roads and railways to inland Africa.

The Hunan-Guangdong-Africa-rail-sea combined transport channel takes Zhuzhou as the main assembly center and Hengyang as the sub-center. The railway freight channel to and from the ports of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be constructed to realize the operation of trains; and the ports of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will travel to and from the African continent. The shipping routes are seamlessly connected, and the channel services are extended to the hinterland countries of the African continent through the self-operated logistics network of platform partners throughout Africa, covering Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and other regions.

Compared with the traditional river-sea routes, the Hunan-Guangdong-non-rail-sea combined transportation channel effectively solves the problems of low time efficiency and high cost of logistics to Africa. For example, the collection port cost from the Hunan-Guangdong non-corridor to the hub port is basically the same, and the entire transportation time to the basic port in East Africa can be shortened by 10 days; the entire transportation time to the basic port in West Africa can be shortened by 9 days, and the entire transportation cost can be saved by about 3%. ; Compared with the highway collection port model, the non-corridor between Hunan and Guangdong can reduce the first-haul logistics cost by nearly 60%.

In addition, the Hunan-Guangdong non-rail-sea intermodal transportation channel uses railway container transportation to collect and diverge ports. Compared with barge transportation, it is not affected by weather and hydrological conditions; it is safer and more reliable than road transportation, and can avoid line congestion during peak shipping seasons. Delay.

Guo Ning, director of the Port Office of the Hunan Provincial Government, said that Hunan has created a multimodal transport channel of "railway + shipping + international inland logistics", forming a five-in-one pattern of "industry + park + port + channel + market", which will serve Hunan and even "Going to the sea" in central and western China provides a more convenient and economical full-chain integrated logistics solution.
