On September 16, 2021, the rapid transformation project of Baishazhou Avenue constructed by the Bridge Construction Group affiliated to Wuhan Urban Investment Group Co., Ltd. officially started construction.

Wuhan Baishazhou Avenue Project

The rapid transformation project of Baishazhou Avenue starts from Baisha 4th Road in the north, to Qingling Lake Hubei Road in the south, and crosses the current Baisha 4th Road, Third Ring Road, Qingling Interchange Ramp, Lishui Road, and Qingling River, and underpasses the Xiwu high-speed railway to be built. Main line viaduct + ground auxiliary road" construction method, in which a pair of upper and lower bridge ramps are set on the north and south sides of Lishui Road to realize the traffic conversion between the elevated layer and the ground layer. The elevated length of the main line is 2460m, and the auxiliary road is 3470m long. The standard section is two-way six-lane. The design speed is 60km/h to the north of the Third Ring Road and 80km/h to the south of the Third Ring Road. The estimated total investment of the project is 1.919 billion yuan.

The project is located at the south gate of Wuhan. Through this transformation, Baishazhou Avenue will be fully connected through the elevated bridge. From the Meijiashan Interchange next to Wuchang Railway Station, it can directly cross Baisha Fourth Road, Third Ring Road and Qingling Interchange Ramp through Baishazhou Avenue viaduct. Lishui Road, Qingling River and other ground layers directly reach Qingzheng Expressway.

After the completion of the Baishazhou Avenue rapid transformation project, it will effectively improve the expressway system in the main urban area, further improve the traffic efficiency of the Wuchang bank crossing the river, effectively alleviate the regional north-south traffic congestion, eliminate the problem of road network congestion, and optimize the regional ring road The network system ensures the rapid conversion function of the road network, meets the growth of regional traffic, and promotes regional upgrades.

At the same time, the project also reserves the transfer ramp for the Wuchang line of the Seibu High-speed Railway in the later period, and sets the conditions for the full interoperability of the Wuchang line in advance, which is of great significance to the improvement of the regional economy and traffic environment.
