According to the British "Financial Times" on September 17, 2021, citing a government official with knowledge of the talks, Abu Dhabi Mubadala Investment Company will invest about 10 billion pounds (13.85 billion U.S. dollars) to invest in British science, Technology, energy transition and infrastructure.
The press office of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a statement that the UK Investment Office and the UAE Mubadala Investment Company are expected to sign an expanded Sovereign Investment Partnership (SIP) agreement. The agreement comes as Johnson is presiding over the bilateral meeting of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Nahyan in Downing Street on Thursday.
The statement also said that other investments that may be announced include an investment of 500 million pounds in British fiber optic broadband operator cityFibre to promote high-speed broadband in the country, and this investment is part of the large-scale financing of city Fibre.
