On September 17, 2021, the 2021 China-Malaysian Enterprise Cross-border Cooperation Online Matchmaking Conference was grandly held. The conference attracted more than 400 Chinese and Malaysian companies to participate, 102 cooperation intentions were reached, and 87 online contracts were signed.

In a speech, Lu Chengquan, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia, said that China has been Malaysia's largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years, and it is also Malaysia's largest export destination and source of imports. There is huge potential for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing said that according to Chinese statistics, in the first half of 2021, China-Malaysia bilateral trade volume and China’s non-financial investment in Malaysia increased by 43.9% and 76.3% year-on-year respectively. Cooperation in the fields of information communication and digital economy has yielded fruitful results. China is willing to actively share the open development experience with Malaysia, continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation, continue to strengthen strategic alignment and cooperation planning, and help both parties to economic recovery and social development.
