Orsted has revealed that it intends to invest up to 12 billion pounds directly with Scottish companies in the next few decades for the development and construction of offshore wind farms in the country.

These proposals are included in the bid submitted to Crown Properties Scotland through its ScotWind offshore wind power leasing round. If Orsted's bid is successful, it will provide more than 8.5GW of clean renewable electricity. The company participated in the bidding of five projects; as part of its joint venture partnership with BlueFloat Energy and Falck Renewables, two floating wind power bids, and the other three stand alone as Orsted, including a combination of fixed and floating wind power technologies.

Martin Neubert, Chief Commercial Officer of Orsted, said: "We are committed to these ambitious plans for ScotWind leasing rounds, not only because Scotland can play a key role in realizing our aspirations, but also because we firmly believe in our scale and experience in offshore wind power. Put us in a unique position to help Scotland transition to a low-carbon economy as quickly as possible." By combining large-scale offshore wind power with renewable hydrogen and green fuels to decarbonize heavy industry and transportation sectors that are difficult to reduce emissions, we will create a A truly integrated decarbonization solution that provides low-cost renewable energy.

"We believe that our bid has made a significant contribution to the achievement of Scotland's ambitious climate change goals and will support the country's renewable energy economy for generations." said Duncan Clark, Orsted UK's head of the company. Looking forward to using Orsted's "decades of experience" to support the development of the offshore wind power industry and its supply chain in Scotland. This includes a commitment to work with Scottish ports and suppliers to develop infrastructure and supply chains, enabling Scotland to become a leader in the global offshore wind power market. He said: "Scotland undoubtedly has the best offshore wind resources in the world. The ScotWind financing round is a critical moment for the development of the Scottish offshore wind power industry, leveraging its outstanding offshore wind power potential and world-leading offshore engineering and contracting capabilities to release investment. Create jobs and opportunities for generations of Scottish businesses."

Floating wind is the key to Orsted's proposal, and the floating foundation is deployed on a large scale together with fixed bottom turbines. These floating offshore wind power projects will be developed in an accelerated time to provide green electricity to Scotland, and with the development of technology, they are part of a comprehensive strategy to establish a Scottish floating wind power portfolio, as well as the gigawatt-level floating wind power projects we are proposing Falck Renewables and BlueFloat Energy. Orsted plans to use part of the electricity from the proposed offshore wind farm to develop renewable hydrogen projects in Scotland.Editor/Baohongying
