Recently, with the cheers of the people and the honking of cars, after 19 days and spanning 1333 kilometers across 5 provinces, Poly grew up in the Congo (Kinshasa) project team carrying water supply construction machinery from the capital Kinshasa to the East Kasai smoothly. Buji Mayi City, the province, completed the "thousand li" allocation task ahead of schedule. With the confidence and determination to solve the problem of clean drinking water for more than 1.4 million citizens, the restoration project of the Buji Mayi water supply system in Poly grew up was officially launched.

Difficult to walk in wind and rain

Poly International's subsidiary Poly Growing Overseas Company attaches great importance to the mechanical allocation task of the Buji Mayi water supply system repair project. From formulating the plan in the early stage, to the safety briefing, and then to tracking the progress during the journey, it gave strong support throughout the process and injected the employees who performed the task. A powerful dose of "reassurance pill".

This task was carried out by Zheng Jiawei and Hao Jianjun, the backbone of the management team selected from the Congo (DRC) project with more than ten years of experience. The team also included local workers and armed police. From the centralized handling of necessary documents such as nucleic acid test reports and travel orders for transport personnel before departure, to the comprehensive overhaul of all machinery, oil, accessories, drugs and security equipment, the project department has made sufficient guarantee preparations for this thousand-mile transfer task. 

Although we have made preparations, in the face of relatively poor distance conditions, the task of allocation is still challenging. Due to the long years of disrepair and the excessive rolling damage of heavy vehicles, the roads along the way were severely damaged, with pits and trenches, and some sections of the road were deposited with floating sand almost below the knee, making it difficult for the 18-meter-long trailer in the convoy to move. Not only that, the huge fleet had to traverse the dangerous roads of the primitive jungle, encountering a series of problems, such as a car puncture, a broken tire of an excavator, a damaged wheel, a malfunction of a car motor, and so on. When docking in tribes or uninhabited areas at night, the convoy had to turn guards at night to ensure the safety of machinery and personnel. "You have to keep half your eyes open when you sleep."

To make matters worse, the rain in central Congo (DRC) in 2021 will come earlier than before. On the third day of departure, there was a sudden heavy rain that caused the river to soar and damaged the bridge. The originally planned route could not be walked. The convoy had to suspend the journey and send people to explore the new route. After two days of twists and turns, the team was able to start again.

Overcome all obstacles

From time to time, the land is not profitable, but the people are harmonious. The mobilization of the project department received a warm response from the local employees of the Congo (DRC). On the day of departure, the local team members not only got up early to make preparations, but also prayed devoutly for the trip.

During the 1,333-kilometer journey, both Chinese and local employees obeyed the arrangement, performed their duties and performed their duties with due diligence. In dealing with residents along the way, the team also upholds the principle of respecting the wishes of the local people. When the convoy needs tree bedding while it is moving, it must first ask the surrounding residents for their opinions. Cooking in the wild also brings its own fuel to avoid damage to the forest.

The convoy's move to build the road while advancing has gained a lot of goodwill from the residents along the way. Along the way, although local residents were curious about the convoy, they did not stop them. When the convoy had questions about the location of the route, the local guide also gave them meticulous guidance. On the night of stopping at Mutongbo Village, the owner of the chief’s house kept guarding the vehicles and supplies in the second half of the night. The simplicity and kindness made people particularly touching.

Once the convoy arrived, it was warmly greeted by local residents. The original 35-day allocation task was successfully completed in only 19 days, which was highly affirmed by the local government and the owner. For local residents who are plagued by drinking water problems, the arrival of the "Buji Mayi Water Supply System Restoration Project" is nothing less than charcoal in the snow.

Responsibility to warm people's hearts

Poly people have been rooted in Congo (Kinshasa) for more than ten years. They not only built roads and bridges on this land, opened the door for local people to the outside world and got rid of poverty, but also brought them clean water and improved the lives of the Congolese people. condition.
