The Chinese mission to the European Union also claimed that, in particular, the report made false comments on China’s political, economic, social, and foreign policies, based on prejudices and lies, pointed out issues related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Taiwan, and grossly interfered in China’s internal affairs and violated international relations. China firmly opposes the basic norms and European commitments on related issues.

The diplomatic mission to the EU stated that the experience of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the EU over the past 40 years has shown that the common interests of both sides far outweigh their differences, and differences in political systems and development paths have not and should not become obstacles to cooperation. The key to stable and long-term China-EU relations is to uphold mutual respect, dialogue and cooperation.
