On September 26, 2021, the second Sustainable Development Forum was held in Beijing. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the opening ceremony of the 2021 Sustainable Development Forum in video mode and delivered a keynote speech. In his speech, Xu Lirong said: Enterprises should always play a unique role and shoulder specific missions in the green revolution. To spread ecological civilization, enterprises are more direct and in-depth, and enterprises are more urgent and more critical to practice green development. The shipping industry undertakes nearly 90% of the transportation tasks of global trade. Although the global carbon emissions account for only about 3%, the global environmental protection regulatory rules are very strict, and the shipping companies’ own needs for green development are more urgent and critical. Currently, global shipping companies are actively cooperating with multiple parties to conduct joint research on clean energy, green ships, smart ports, economic decarbonization, etc., to promote green transformation and promote green transformation. COSCO SHIPPING Group has long been committed to practicing the new development concept.
