Recently, representatives of the overseas branch of the China Railway Fifth Bureau signed the Kyrgyz Republic’s Epkin-Dyikan highway project with the Deputy Minister of Transport of Kyrgyzstan and the director of the supervision company. The contract period was 30 months.
The Epkin-Dyikan highway project is located in Naryn Prefecture in the eastern region of Kyrgyzstan. The project is 270 kilometers away from the capital Bishkek and 185 kilometers away from Naryn Prefecture. The project is 69.7km in length and is designed as a two-way, two-lane, asphalt mastic wear layer pavement. The project includes the reconstruction of a 29m long and 9m wide bridge, 119 horizontal culverts, and 91 longitudinal culverts. It is reported that the project route from the northeast to the southwest will connect two main Central Asian regional economic cooperation corridors, namely: connecting Osh, Batken and Jalalabad in the south with Naryn and Issyk-Kul in the north. , Is an important part of the North-South Economic Cooperation Corridor. The implementation of the project is of great strategic significance to the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan. After its completion, it will further improve the interconnection and economic and trade development between the economically underdeveloped regions and the developed regions.
