Saudi Arabia will allocate 4.2 billion Saudi crowns (1.2 billion U.S. dollars) to develop the local digital content industry. The initiative to invest in video content creation is aimed at attracting major companies specializing in video content. The video investment rate in Saudi Arabia is expected to reach S$1 billion to S$1.2 billion. Video accounts for 79% of global Internet traffic. In August 2021, Saudi Arabia approved the first regulatory framework for digital government.
