Smart highway construction will be carried out in the road sections, and high-level waterways such as Wujiang, Fujiang and Hangzhou-Shenzhen lines will be built to build smart and integrated passenger transport hubs led by railways in Chongqing.

Chengyu Expressway will be widened and turned into a smart highway

In terms of key smart highway projects, the Action Plan clearly proposes a development strategy based on key areas such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing Double City Economic Circle, and Hainan Free Trade Port. The construction of smart highways is carried out in key sections of national expressways such as Hong Kong, Macao, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Shenhai, Shanghai-Kunming, Chengdu-Chongqing, and Hainan Island, as well as intercity expressways such as the Beijing-Xiong Expressway and the Jinan-Qingdao Middle Line.

In fact, Chongqing is already in action. At the beginning of 2021, Chongqing’s "Action Plan for Promoting the Construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Double-City Economic Circle and Strengthening the Construction of Transportation Infrastructure (2020-2022)" clearly stated that: through the widening and transformation of expressways such as Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway and Yusui Expressway, a two-way The eight-lane high-speed passage strongly supports the construction of the two-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing area.

Build a smart comprehensive passenger transport hub

The "Action Plan" also proposes to build a railway-led smart integrated passenger transport hub in Chongqing and other areas to realize functions such as station linkage, passenger flow control, one-yard traffic, smart parking, and smart customer service.

How to build it? The "Action Plan" requires that convenient transfers be the guide, and facilities such as intelligent interline navigation, ticketing services, sign guidance, and comprehensive three-dimensional transfers should be improved. Promote the application of on-board portable security inspection equipment, promote the widespread use of e-tickets in comprehensive passenger transportation hubs, strengthen the effective connection of ticketing systems for different modes of transportation, and achieve "one-stop ticket purchase, one-code (pass) pass".

At the same time, promote the mutual recognition of security inspections across transportation modes, build a comprehensive operation coordination platform for hubs, and promote the effective connection of operational information such as urban buses and trams, urban rail transit, taxis (including online car-hailing), railways, aviation operating hours, and changes in passenger flow scale. .

According to Chongqing's plan, Chongqing will promote the intelligent upgrade of the integrated passenger transport hub, promote "one-yard access" for passenger transport services such as ticket sales, ticket checking, and security, and build smart stations; encourage the construction of intelligent connected navigation and mutual recognition of security checks.

Wujiang, Fujiang, etc. need to build smart waterways

The "Action Plan" proposes to build smart waterways based on the "four vertical, four horizontal and two networks" of the national high-level waterway network, relying on the Yangtze River trunk line, the Xijiang shipping trunk line, the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, the Wujiang River, the Fujiang River, and the Hangzhou-Shenzhen line.

The "Action Plan" requires real-time monitoring of the operating conditions of key navigational buildings, promote the application of high-level navigation channel electronic channel maps, promote the joint intelligent dispatch of cascade hub ship locks, effectively improve channel passage capacity, and ensure the safe passage of ships.

It is reported that Chongqing is currently accelerating the construction of the Jialing River Lize shipping hub project, Wujiang Baima, Fujiang Shuangjiang navigation and power hub projects and other projects.
