On the morning of October 12, 2021, at the entrance of the Manmushu Tunnel, with the last section of rails being placed in place, the entire line of the China-Laos Railway was completed: this thousand-kilometer steel dragon, starting from Kunming, passing through Mopan Mountain and Ailao The mountains and the Wuliang Mountains cross the Yuanjiang, Amo, Babian and Lancang Rivers, and enter Laos through the Friendship Tunnel of the China-Laos Railway, and finally reach Vientiane.

The China-Laos Railway is an important project connecting China's Belt and Road Initiative and Laos' strategy of "turning a land-locked country into a land-union country". The total length of the line is more than 1,000 kilometers. The domestic section from Yuxi to Mohan is located in southern Yunnan, in the suture zone of the collision between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate. The valleys are vertical and horizontal and the rivers are dense.

With the completion of the entire track, the China-Laos railway has entered the sprint stage of construction before it is opened to traffic.
