Under the historical opportunity of global carbon neutral transformation, at the 2021 Ordos Zero Carbon Industry Summit held on October 12, Envision Technology Group launched the world's first zero-carbon industrial park-the "Envision Zero Carbon Industrial Park" in Ordos. The industrial park is located in the Jiangsu Industrial Park of Mengsu Economic Development Zone and will be completed and put into operation in the first half of next year.

The industrial park will involve green energy, transportation and chemical industry, and the landing projects will involve wind turbine equipment manufacturing and upstream industrial chain, power battery and the entire industrial chain, replacement heavy trucks, hydrogen energy production and downstream fuel cell industrial chain.

Ordos is located in the hinterland of the Yellow River, in the southwest of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has abundant resources of energy, chemical industry and building materials, and is known as the "Treasure House outside the Great Wall".

Inner Mongolia is an important national energy and strategic resource base, with proven coal reserves of 210.2 billion tons, accounting for about 1/6 of the country. Among them, Ordos is the largest coal city in China and is known as the "Coal City"; proven natural gas reserves are nearly 5 Trillion cubic meters, accounting for 1/3 of the country, is one of the main gas sources for the country’s “West-East Gas Pipeline”.

Inner Mongolia also has abundant renewable energy resources. In 2020, Inner Mongolia has the largest solar power generation capacity in the country, with a total of 13.158 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 9.26% of the national solar power generation. At present, one third of Inner Mongolia's electricity installed capacity and one fifth of the total electricity consumption of the whole society come from new energy sources.

At the same time, Inner Mongolia is a major carbon-emission province in China. Under the constraints of "dual control of energy consumption" and the guidance of dual-carbon development goals, Inner Mongolia urgently needs to achieve a zero-carbon industrial transformation.

Zhang Lei, CEO of Envision Technology Group, said that Ordos is rich in underground energy, as well as endless renewable energy. It is entirely possible that, like Manchester, it will lead the green new industrial revolution and make the "several bend area" of the Yellow River a new industrial center in China. .

"Manchester is the closest place to coal production in central and northern England. When the material transportation conditions are not developed, one ton of coal is transported to the Netherlands, and no industry can support the cost. Just like today, 10 million kilowatt-hours of wind power and photovoltaic are transported to the Netherlands. Jiangsu and Guangdong, the cost is equally huge." Zhang Lei said.

Zhang Lei said that in the world's first zero-carbon industrial park built in Ordos, 80% of the energy comes directly from wind power, photovoltaics and energy storage.

The other 20% of the energy will be sold to the grid when there is too much new energy power production, and taken back from the grid when needed, to achieve a 100% zero-carbon energy supply.

International inspection and certification agency Bureau Veritas Construction Engineering and Facilities Division of Greater China General Manager Yang Hu said that the zero-carbon industrial park can provide low-cost, safe and green energy guarantee, and efficiently convert renewable energy into advanced productivity. The basic unit of the high-quality development of the industrial system.

Yang Hu said that industrial parks have contributed a lot to the national economy, up to 30%; industrial energy consumption accounts for a high level of national energy consumption, reaching 66%; industrial carbon emissions account for a large amount of China’s total carbon emissions, reaching 68%, and will pass through the parks in the future. reduce.

According to Jiemian News, at present, Anhui, Jiangsu, Qinghai, Gansu, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Shenyang, Inner Mongolia, Shandong and other provinces and cities have clearly proposed the creation of zero-carbon industrial parks and zero-carbon power systems to help "double carbon "Achievement of the goal. However, the definition, implementation path and evaluation criteria of the Zero Carbon Industrial Park are still vague.

At the above-mentioned summit, Envision Technology Group and Bureau Veritas jointly issued the "International Zero-Carbon Industrial Park Standard", and proposed four aspects covering zero-carbon energy system, smart industry and technology, smart infrastructure and social low-carbon transformation for industrial parks. Requirements.

Zhang Yuan, senior strategic director of Envision Technology Group, said that in the future, zero-carbon industrial parks that meet the "International Zero-Carbon Industrial Park Standards" will have four major characteristics: build a zero-carbon energy supply system, promote the development and application of zero-carbon industries and technologies, and The core of intelligent IoT management and the creation of low-carbon transformation momentum for the region.

Zhang Yuan said that Inner Mongolia is rich in renewable energy and can provide a high proportion of green power supply, safe and low price, which is an important reason for the establishment of the zero-carbon industrial park in Ordos.

It is understood that the new industrial system is based on the original industrial system, through the use of cheap and clean renewable energy, to stimulate industrial restructuring, and at the same time urge the process of new industrial ecology. Low-cost green power is the core key to building a zero-carbon industrial park, and it is also an important driving force for building a zero-carbon new industrial system.

“Building a zero-carbon industrial park is a market behavior. In terms of top-level design, the industrial chain needs to be enriched. Inner Mongolia has the advantage of enriching the industrial chain. The upstream industry of power batteries requires graphite, minerals, electrolytic aluminum and other raw materials. Basically, they can be found in Inner Mongolia." Zhang Yuan said.

According to him, 30% of China's electrolytic aluminum production and 20% of fluorite reserves are in Inner Mongolia, which can form a closed loop of the ecological industry.

Inner Mongolia has also advanced early in the reduction of energy consumption intensity and total energy consumption control. The "Barometer of Completion of Energy Consumption Dual Control Targets in Various Regions in the First Half of 2021" issued by the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission shows that Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is at the optimal level in terms of energy consumption intensity reduction and total energy consumption control.

In addition, Inner Mongolia has also introduced multiple favorable policies. For example, it can develop an intelligent Internet of Things system; the zero-carbon industry has rich application scenarios, with 300,000 heavy trucks; Ordos is China's largest coal chemical industry base, which can absorb a large amount of green hydrogen. Zhao Weijun, President of Envision Power China, believes that zero-carbon industrial parks require resource endowments and are most suitable to be built in areas rich in renewable energy. However, zero-carbon industrial parks in eastern regions also have construction conditions, such as extensive use of rooftop photovoltaics and enriched Offshore wind power, etc. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
