EDP Renewables plans to invest approximately £660 million in onshore wind and solar energy in the UK over the next five years. The company said the investment was made after the acquisition of 544MW onshore wind and solar projects in July.

EDPR stated that it is actively seeking new opportunities in this area and is currently negotiating 200 MW wind power projects with local partners. In total, the company plans to spend 12.86 billion pounds, which is in addition to the 2.65 billion pounds pledged by the company and Engie for its Ocean Winds offshore wind power joint venture, for the Moray East and Moray West projects.

After the completion of Moray West, it is expected that the project will require an additional £2.2 billion in capital expenditures in the next three to four years.
