Ile-de-France Mobilités and RATP have selected Alstom to provide 37 Citadis X05 trams for the T1-Line in the Ile-de-France region.

The order valued at 150.76 million U.S. dollars (130 million euros) has been used to replace existing trams. 83 optional parts of trams are also planned to meet requirements related to line extension. The new tram is 33m long and 2.4m wide, and will carry 15% more passengers than existing trams. Equipped with 6 double doors of 1.3m on each side, all commuters can enter 100%.

These new trams will reduce the accessibility of people with reduced mobility through a new rotating bogie profile under the cabin to reduce the space between the platform and the door. The air-conditioned train will be equipped with a passenger information system with 18 screens, as well as internal and external lighting and audio information.

They will also provide 40 USB sockets and a video protection system for security purposes. Due to reduced quality, 100% LED lighting, new motorization, and effective management of climate comfort, these trams are expected to reduce energy consumption by at least 30% compared to existing trains. The Citadis X05 tram is also expected to bring maintenance benefits to operators. Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud, President of Alstom France, said: "These new Citadis X05 trams will help beautify the cities they serve. They will also provide passengers with a higher level of comfort and service. We want to thank Ile. -de-France Mobilités and RATP, they have renewed confidence in our latest generation of tram solutions." The Île-de-France tram line 1 or T1 started operating in 1992. It currently connects the Quatre-Routes intersection in Asnières-sur-Seine with the Noisy-le-Sec station. Société du Grand Paris earlier reached an agreement with Île-de-France Mobilités, awarding Alstom a contract worth US$265.9 million (EUR 230 million) to provide rolling stock for Route 18 of the French Grand Paris Express network.Editor/Baohongying
