On October 18, 2021 local time, the Qatar Water Supply Project E contract undertaken by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group officially obtained the handover certificate of two reservoirs, kicking off the prelude to the overall handover of the project.

As one of the important components of Qatar’s National Strategic Reservoir Project, the E-marked Reservoir Project is responsible for realizing the full connection of the country’s pipeline network and supplying water to the northern part of the country’s industrial town Umm Said and the southern part of Wakrah. The largest single cistern in operation certified by the Guinness World Records. The official issuance of the handover certificates of the two reservoirs greatly boosted the morale of all the project staff and created a good start for the project's fourth quarter and sprint annual goal. In the next step, the project department will continue to overcome unfavorable factors such as the new crown epidemic and the tight schedule, set the annual production and operation goals and tasks, work hard in unity, and accelerate the completion and handover of the project. With the rapid economic development, the demand for fresh water in Qatar's industry, production and life is increasing, and the original water supply system has been unable to meet the development needs. To this end, Qatar initiated the construction of a large-scale strategic pool project in Qatar. The project includes system engineering such as seawater desalination, storage, and transportation. After completion, it will be able to meet Qatar's national water consumption for 7 days. At the same time, it will also supply water for the World Cup held in Qatar in 2022. As the only Chinese company participating in the construction, the water supply E-standard project undertaken by Energy China Gezhouba Group has a capacity of 500,000 cubic meters per pool.Editor/XuNing
