Construction planning: This round of construction planning plans to build 3 lines (sections), with a total scale of 205.08km, and 42 stations, namely S1 (Ganjiang New Area Line) Phase I Project, S2 (Changfu Line) Phase I Project, S5 (Changan Line) Phase I project.

According to the schematic diagram of the planned route plan for the railway construction in the metropolitan area (suburban) of the Greater Nanchang Metropolitan Area (the final plan is subject to the approval), it shows:

S1 (Ganjiang New Area Line) Phase I Project: The line starts at Changbei Airport Station, runs through Metro Express Line 8, transfers to Line 10, transfers to Changjiu High-speed Railway, Changbei Airport, and finally Germany Hedong Township Station in Anxian County.

The line connects the Airport New City, the International Ecological Technology Town of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Science and Technology City of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the National Skilled Talents Training Complex, and the Gongqingcheng University City. The line is 61.78km in length and has 14 stations, including Changbei Airport Station, T4 Terminal Station, Baima Temple Station, Kechuang City Station, Yongxiu County Government Station, Tubu Station, Zhoushang Station, Xiaoqiao Station, Gongqingcheng University Station, Jiangyi Town Station, Gongqingcheng Train Stations, Jiuxian Station, De'an Station, and Hedong Station have an average distance of 4.75km. Among them, the Changbei Airport section and some sections on the north side of Jiuxian Station are underground lines, and the rest are elevated lines.

S2 (Changfu Line) Phase I Project: The line starts from Henggang Station of Changgan High-speed Railway in Nanchang County in the north, and connects with the proposed south extension of Line 3, and reserves the operating conditions for connecting with Metro Express Line 10 in the south. To Fuzhou Station in Fuzhou City, the line is 99.8km long, with 15 stations, and the average distance between stations is 7.11km.

Pass through Xiangtang Station, Cuihu Lake, Liangjiadu North, Sakura Valley, Wenzhen, Wengang, Lidu, Yunshan, Singkai, Fubei Industrial Park, Hot Spring Hotel, Hot Spring Town, Shangdundu, and finally to Fuzhou City in the south Fuzhou Station. The total investment of the project is 31.222 billion yuan, and the design standard is a dual-line speed of 160 kilometers per hour (speed limit in local sections).

S5 (Chang'an Line) Phase I Project: The line starts at Changfu Avenue Station at the intersection of Changfu Avenue and Gongye 4th Road in the New District of Nanchang City. West to Anyi County, north of Dinghu Town on the south bank of the Lihe River.

In terms of location, the line connects Xinyue Lake New Town, Meiling Scenic Area, Anyi Area, etc. The line length is 43.5km, with 13 stations, including Changfu Avenue Station, Business School Station, Lingxiuhu Station, Wanli Station, Moon Bay Station, Meiling North Station, Xichang Station, Taiping Station, Wanbu Station, Dongyang Station, Anyi Station, Duigang Station, Dinghu Station, the average distance between stations is 3.62km, among which Changfu Avenue Station~Lingxiu Lake The station is an underground line, and the rest are overhead lines.

According to previous reports, the planning and preparation of the metropolitan area (suburban) railway network of the Greater Nanchang Metropolitan Area started the bidding in June 2021, and the planning and preparation work was required to be completed on July 30, 2021.
