Santiago, the capital of Chile, is planning two new road tunnel connections. The length of the parallel tunnels is 1.5 kilometers, all of which will carry one-way traffic. The construction of the double pipe is expected to cost approximately US$353 million. This work is planned to start in 2022 and will take 3.5 years to complete.

The project was carried out by Spanish contractor Abertis, the Chilean subsidiary of ViasChile. The project package was signed with the Chilean government. The project is located at the southernmost end of the entire extension line with a total length of 1760.6 meters. It is located in the southwest of the capital Santiago. It is an important part of the Santiago Metro. One-tenth of Santiago’s population and approximately 700,000 people have created convenient travel conditions.
