The Prime Minister of Pakistan stated that by 2030, Pakistan will ensure that renewable energy accounts for 60% of its total structure and 30% of all traffic will be converted to electric vehicles. At the Middle East Green Initiative Summit held in Riyadh, Imran Khan talked about the measures Pakistan has taken to develop clean energy, because climate change is one of the “biggest crises” of mankind. He said that due to climate change, Pakistan is among the 10 most vulnerable countries in the world. In the past 10 years, there have been 150 accidents affecting the environment in the country.

When he praised Saudi Arabia's "great measures to green the country", he also explained his own country's actions. At present, Pakistan has put aside 2,400 MW of coal projects and replaced them with 3,700 MW of hydropower, and then promised that there will be no new coal projects in Pakistan.
