Global energy technology company Baker Hughes announced the start of construction of its Oil Field Services (OFS) regional center in King Salman Energy Park (SPARK). The company said in a statement that its investment is an important milestone for SPARK, a large-scale energy city project of 50 square kilometers located in the center of the energy market in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This large-scale project aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global energy, industrial and technology center.

The 300,000 square meter regional center will support Baker Hughes' OFS operations and customers in the Middle East. The facility is the largest assembly, maintenance and overhaul center of the Baker Hughes Oilfield Services business in the Eastern Hemisphere. It will have more than 600 employees, 70% of whom are Saudi nationals. The facility plans to add 120 jobs when it opens at the end of 2022.
