On October 28th, Sany SCC98000TM crawler crane was successfully delivered to Shandong Haiwan Hoisting Engineering Co., Ltd. This is the third time that Sany Heavy Industry has set a new record for the world's largest tonnage crane after 3,600 tons in 2011 and 4,000 tons in 2020.

SCC98000TM has a lifting moment of 98,000 tons and more than 20 invention patents. It mainly meets the needs of large-scale hoisting of petrochemical tanks and nuclear power domes. It has two working conditions, double-arm working condition and single-arm working condition, and double-arm working condition. It is 4500t, and 2000t can be used in single-arm working conditions, which is quick to disassemble and transport, realizing dual-use for one vehicle.

According to Zhang Zhihong, general manager of Zhejiang Sany Equipment Co., Ltd.: "The frequency of use of 4500t is generally lower than that of 2000t. When there are 2000t tasks, 4500t can be disassembled into 2000t for use only by replacing a few parts. A small car has lower energy consumption, a smaller footprint, and greater flexibility."

The large tonnage crawler crane represents the top level in the field of construction machinery. Without considerable accumulation, wanting to develop such a product is a fantasy. Even if it only leaps from 4000 tons to 4500 tons, there are still no small technical challenges.

Zhang Zhihong said: "How to ensure the maximum versatility of 4500t and 2000t electro-hydraulic power components is the biggest problem. But we have 3,600 tons and 4,000 tons of successful research and development and manufacturing experience, so overall it is relatively smooth. In the end, more than 95% of the components are universal."
