On November 11, 2021, the Guangxi high-speed rail logistics base project officially started construction in Nanning. According to reports, this is the first high-speed rail logistics base in Guangxi and the second high-speed rail logistics base under construction in China.

Nanning High-speed Rail Logistics Base

Nanning high-speed rail logistics base is adjacent to Nanning No. 2 EMU, 3.1 kilometers away from Nanning East Station, covers an area of 1,280 acres, and has a construction scale of 300,000 square meters. The planned total investment is 1.97 billion yuan. The functional planning is divided into five major functional areas, namely the high-speed rail express loading and unloading operation area, the high-speed rail express transit operation area, and the express cold chain logistics area. The construction of Nanning's high-speed rail logistics base will help build a new pattern of railway freight transportation in Nanning with one port and two bases.

The first phase of the project is planned to be completed in the first half of 2022, designing 4 high-speed rail train loading and unloading lines, and achieving direct connection with Nanning No. 2 EMU. At that time, the Nanning High-speed Rail Logistics Base can provide one-stop services for the assembly, loading and unloading, security inspection and distribution of goods.

High-speed rail express logistics mainly relies on high-speed rail passenger trains, special high-speed rail fast-moving trains and other transportation tools and supporting containerized equipment to provide large-capacity, fast, and punctual trunk line transportation services. With the rapid development of China's e-commerce and express delivery services, and the continuous improvement of the high-speed rail network, the prospects for the development of high-speed rail logistics are broad.
