Recently, a special freight train loaded with more than 1,000 tons of aid materials and living production materials departed from Wuxi Station in Xinjiang and was transported to Afghanistan by rail and truck. This train is the third China's Xinjiang-Afghanistan freight train, which is mainly loaded with winter supplies such as cotton-padded clothes, cotton shoes, blankets, naan, and milk tea powder that Xinjiang aids the Afghan people.

At 16:30 on November 20, 2021, the bagpipes of the train sounded, and a special freight train loaded with more than 1,000 tons of aid materials and living production materials departed from Urumqi West Station and exited through the Khorgos Port. It is transported to Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. The journey is expected to take about 12 days. This train has a total of 50 40-foot containers, mainly for Xinjiang’s aid to Afghanistan, such as cotton-padded clothes, cotton shoes, blankets, naan, and milk tea powder, which are urgently needed by the Afghan people during the winter.

"After receiving the task, we implemented urgent matters, deployed 8 short-distance vehicles overnight, arranged sufficient personnel and machinery in advance, organized two reach stackers to operate at the same time, and completed the loading task within 3 hours to ensure assistance materials. It will be delivered to the hands of the Afghan people as soon as possible.” said Pang Hongtao, deputy general manager of Urumqi Freight Center of China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

In order to ensure the smooth transportation of the materials, the Urumqi Bureau Group Company opened up green channels in the vehicle source configuration, loading and unloading organization, marshalling and hanging transportation, etc., to optimize the operation process to ensure that the materials can be quickly loaded and discharged in time. At the same time, they strengthen coordination and cooperation with customs and freight forwarding companies to provide "one-stop" services for special train customs clearance to ensure that the trains are quickly inspected and cleared after they arrive at the port, minimize the stay time of the trains, and improve the efficiency of the train's customs clearance.
