On the evening of November 25, 2021, Russian time, according to the latest news from the Russian emergency department, a total of 52 people died in the coal mine accident in Kemerovo Oblast, including 6 rescuers. This incident has alarmed Russian President Putin. Putin expressed deep condolences to the miners who died, and he instructed to make every effort to help the injured.

According to reports, at about 4:30 in the morning on November 25, thick smoke erupted from the Listvia Zinaya mine in the Kuzbass mining area in Kemerovo region. At the time of the incident, a total of 285 workers were working in the mine. The cause of the accident may be coal dust fire.

Russian President’s Press Secretary Peskov said: “President Putin expresses his deep condolences to the families of the miners who are known to have been killed. Of course, we hope that it is possible to rescue those who are still underground.” He also added that Putin instructed relevant officials to organize a response.
