On November 30, 2021, an important road construction and maintenance contract worth US$187.5 million has been awarded in Malaysia. The package of works will now be handled by the Malaysian company Kimlun Sdn Bhd.
The transaction was awarded by the Malaysian company Samling Resources. The contract will enable Jinlun to perform maintenance and improvement works for the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Project. The Malaysian road network includes federal highways and state highways. The total length of the road is about 65,000km (1996). There are 3 backbone roads in Peninsular Malaysia, the Federal Road No. 1 with a total length of 890km-the north-south expressway that runs from the north end of the peninsula's west coast adjacent to the border of Thailand to the south end of Johor Bahru (completed in February 1994). Federal Road No. 2 with a total length of 292km-from Port Klang on the west coast of the peninsula through Kuala Lumpur, traversing the center of the peninsula, and ending at Kuantan, Pahang on the east coast.
