CMEC signs the largest waste-to-energy project in Southeast Asia

On December 1, 2021, CMEC General Manager Fang Yanshui witnessed the company’s meeting with the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the North Dhaka Municipal Government of Bangladesh, the State Grid Corporation of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Electric Power Development Commission on waste-to-energy generation in North Dhaka, Bangladesh through a video conference. The waste-to-energy project in North Dhaka developed by CMEC under the investment-construction-operation model has a daily processing capacity of 3,000 tons of domestic waste. After completion, it is expected to become the largest waste-to-energy project in South Asia. After the project is put into operation, it will not only solve the domestic waste disposal problem of 6 million people in North Dhaka City, but also meet the electricity demand of approximately 1.1 million people and bring benefits to the local people's livelihood.

Before signing the contract, Fang Yanshui had a cordial meeting with Ambassador Mahbu Uz Zaman. On behalf of CMEC, Fang Yanshui welcomed Mahbu Uz Zaman’s visit and introduced in detail the development history of CMEC, the performance of overseas projects and the advantages of SINOMACH in the solid waste treatment business.
