The Demonstration Zone of the Wanjiang Urban Belt to undertake industrial transfer is an important part of the "One Circle and Five Districts" that Anhui Province will focus on. It has been 11 years since the plan for the demonstration zone was officially approved by the State Council in 2010. What is worth looking forward to is that the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission is currently accelerating the study and formulation of a new round of Wanjiang urban belt development plans, and plans to build a number of Yangtze River highway and railway (highway) bridges.

The Wanjiang Urban Belt Undertaking Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as Wanjiang Demonstration Zone) includes Hefei, Wuhu, Ma'anshan, Tongling, Anqing, Chizhou, Chuzhou, Xuancheng 8 cities, and Lu’an City Jin’an District and Shucheng County. At present, the regional GDP of the eight Wanjiang cities accounted for 65% of the province, and the “main engine” for driving the province’s high-quality development has become more apparent.

Anqing, Tongling, Chizhou...In January 2010, the "Wanjiang Urban Belt Undertaking Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zone Planning" approved by the State Council once proposed to "build an Anchi copper industry cluster and implement a number of major transportation infrastructure projects."

The Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission stated that after years of hard work, the He'an High-speed Railway, Ning'an Intercity Railway, G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, and the three Yangtze River Bridges in Anqing, Wangdong and Chizhou have been completed and opened to traffic. Currently, Zongyang County's regional adjustment has been successfully completed, the construction of the Jiangnan emerging industry concentration area is accelerating, the construction of Anjiu and Chihuang high-speed railways is accelerating, the reconstruction and expansion of Chizhou Jiuhuashan and Anqing airports are progressing steadily, and the linkage development between Anchi Copper is becoming closer and closer. The Lianwaitong transportation network has taken shape.

In the next step, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission will also give greater support to the integrated development of Anchi Copper, establish and improve inter-city coordination and linkage mechanisms, and strengthen urban interaction and cooperation. On the one hand, speed up the completion of the North Yanjiang Expressway and the expansion of the South Yanjiang Expressway, and plan to build G3 Tongling, Chizhou, Wangjiang, Anqing Haikou and other Yangtze River highway and railway (highway) bridges.

In addition, the Chizhou-Jiujiang high-speed railway will be constructed in a timely manner, and the study and demonstration of the high-speed railway along the North River in Anhui will be carried out to provide strong support for the further smooth flow of Anchi Copper and the revitalization of the Wanjiang River.

At present, the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission is speeding up the study and formulation of a new round of Wanjiang urban belt development plan. In the future, the Wanjiang Demonstration Zone will actively undertake the layout and transfer of emerging industries, and strive to make continuous breakthroughs in the development of strategic emerging industries, the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and the cultivation of future industries, forming several world-class advanced manufacturing clusters, and creating the Wanjiang Intelligent Manufacturing Corridor.

At the same time, we will build a modern infrastructure system, build an important hub in Wanjiang, and strive to advance the construction of new infrastructure simultaneously with Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
