On December 9, 2021, the first phase of Tianjin Rail Transit Line Z2 (Binhai Airport Station-Beitang Station) officially started construction. According to reports, the total length of the project line is about 39.16 kilometers, the underground line is about 15.42 kilometers, the elevated line is about 21.84 kilometers, and the transition section is about 1.9 kilometers. The route mainly passes through Binhai International Airport, Airport Economic Zone, Binhai High-tech Zone, West Economic Development Zone, Ocean High-tech Zone, and many other administrative regions.

There are a total of 14 stations on the whole line, including 5 underground stations, namely Binhai Airport Station, Zhongxin Avenue Station, Dongliudao Station, Binhai West Station, and Ninghai Road Station; 9 elevated stations, namely Jingsan Road Station and Gaoxin 1st Road Station. , Bolong Lake Station, Chunhua Road Station, Haiping Road Station, Tanghan Road Station, Guanjingdao Station, Dongting Road Station, Beitang Station, 1 new depot, 1 main substation.

Among them, China Railway Construction Engineering Group undertook the construction of Tianjin Rail Transit Line Z2 Phase I Project (Binhai Airport Station-Beitang Station) 3 bids. The construction scope is from Dongliudao Station to Jingsan Road Station and the interval in between.

Dongliudao Station is located at the intersection of Dongliu Road and Huanhe East Road. It is a 12.6-meter island platform station with 2 floors, double columns and three spans. The outer edge of the main structure of the station is about 250 meters long and the standard section width is 21.7 meters. Including the main body of the station, entrances and exits, and wind pavilions, with a total construction area of 17045.05 square meters.

Jingsan Road Station is located along Weisan Road at the intersection of Jingsan Road and Weisan Road, with a total length of about 143.2 meters. It is an elevated 3-story double-column three-span side platform station with a total construction area of 12968.98 square meters.

The section between Dongliudao Station and Jingsan Road Station is divided into open cut section, transition section and elevated section. The length of the cut section is 284.123 meters, the U-shaped groove road base section is 414.87 meters, and the elevated section length is 2128.44 meters.
