The world's leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers JLG (JLG) held the groundbreaking ceremony for the aerial work platform smart factory in Tianjin Binhai New District on January 10, 2019. Mr. Frank Nerenhausen, the global president of JLG Co., Ltd., Mr. Gu Tao, the general manager of JLG Asia-Pacific region, Mr. Zhu Zhiping, the general manager of JLG (Tianjin) Equipment Co., Ltd., and leaders at all levels of Tianjin Airport Economic Zone witnessed the construction project start.

JLG aerial work platform intelligent factory is located in Tianjin Airport Economic Zone, covering an area of about 25,800 square meters, the plant covers an area of 16,000 square meters, adjacent to JLG's existing manufacturing plant. The plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2020, at which time the Jerje Tianjin plant will have an additional production capacity of more than 5,000 boom aerial platforms.

Gu Tao, General Manager of JLG Asia Pacific, did not conceal his optimism about the Chinese market in his speech. He said: "The development speed of China's aerial platform market is obvious to all. The growth rate is higher than 50%. Because of this, we have chosen to strengthen investment in China and further expand the Tianjin production base. As early as 2008, JLG set up its first aerial work platform manufacturing plant in Asia in Tianjin. After this capital increase and expansion, JLG Tianjin production base will have a more intelligent production method.
