TÜV SÜD, an international authoritative testing agency, issued a certificate with a thermal efficiency of 51.09% to Weichai. Challenge the limit and climb to the new peak of power

At present, green and low-carbon development has become a global consensus, and China has proposed the strategic goals of "carbon peaking by 2030" and "carbon neutrality by 2060". The transportation sector is an important battlefield for realizing the "dual carbon" strategy, and the internal combustion engine industry plays an important role in this process.

Thermal efficiency is a standard for measuring the fuel utilization efficiency of internal combustion engines. The higher the thermal efficiency, the less fuel consumption, and the more significant the effect of energy saving and emission reduction. It reflects the comprehensive strength of a country's diesel engine technology. The improvement of thermal efficiency is also the common pursuit of the global industry since the birth of diesel engines 125 years . On September 16, 2020, Weichai Power released the world's first commercial diesel engine with a thermal efficiency of 50.23% in Jinan. After a lapse of 480 days, Weichai Power set a new record again. The thermal efficiency of the diesel engine body reached 51.09% for the first time in the world, and it ran within 9 seconds on the 100-meter track, further enhancing my country's right to speak in the global internal combustion engine industry.

The thermal efficiency of Weichai Power diesel engine body reaches 51.09%, which is another major revolution in the thermal efficiency of traditional power, and also provides technical preparations for the implementation of the "National Seven" emission standards. The application of this technology will fully realize Weichai Power’s full range of diesel engines leading the world in all fields; it is of great strategic significance to promote energy conservation, emission reduction and green development of my country’s traditional internal combustion engine industry; it has an important technological leadership role in the global internal combustion engine industry.

According to estimates, compared with the existing mainstream products in the market (an average 46% thermal efficiency diesel engine), a 51% thermal efficiency diesel engine can reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 10% respectively, saving my country 16 million tons of fuel every year, and economic benefits of about 140 billion yuan ; Carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by 50 million tons per year. In the future, with the large-scale application of this top technology in the industry, it will bring huge economic and social benefits.


"Hydrogen" leads the future to create a Qilu model for the hydrogen energy industry

While promoting breakthroughs in traditional power technology and low-carbon upgrades, Weichai takes the development of new energy industry as one of its important strategic directions. This time, the first batch of Sinotruk hydrogen-fueled heavy-duty tractors delivered by Shandong Heavy Industry Group to Shandong Port Group are equipped with Weichai's high-power hydrogen fuel cell system.

In 2021, Weichai Power will lead the construction of the only national fuel cell technology innovation center in the country. At the same time, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shandong Province signed a framework agreement for the "Hydrogen Entering Thousands of Homes" technology demonstration project, relying on the National Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Center to carry out multi-scenario demonstration applications of hydrogen energy in Shandong to accelerate key technological breakthroughs and industrial development of hydrogen energy. Create a scalable and replicable model for the hydrogen energy industry.

Since the implementation of the "Hydrogen into Ten Thousand Homes" technology demonstration project, with the strong support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shandong Province, the National Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Center has established an innovation collaboration with Weichai Power as the core and enterprises, universities and research institutes jointly tackle key problems. to accelerate the breakthrough of technical bottlenecks in the industrial chain and the implementation of industrialization, and successfully developed a 15-200kW series of hydrogen fuel cell systems, of which the 200kW fuel cell system participated in the National "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition in October 2021; the first The company carried out the environmental adaptability test of the fuel cell fleet in the extremely cold environment, and it started successfully at minus 34°C.

Based on high-reliability fuel cell products, multi-scenario application demonstration work has been carried out. In terms of hydrogen energy park, the first domestic high-power containerized hydrogen fuel cell cogeneration system and the first 30kW solid oxide fuel cell cogeneration system were put into operation in Weifang; the first domestic 3-ton hydrogen fuel cell forklift was developed, Create a zero-carbon logistics handling environment. In terms of hydrogen energy ports, the first 80-seat hydrogen fuel cell passenger ship in China was successfully launched in Xueye Lake, Jinan, achieving zero-carbon shipping; the country's first port hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck demonstration operation project was launched in Qingdao Port. In terms of hydrogen energy expressway, the country's first expressway hydrogen refueling station has been put into operation in Zibo; the 49-ton fuel cell heavy truck supporting Weichai Power products runs over 5,000 kilometers on the route from Jinan Taigang to Qingdao Dongjiakou Port. On October 27 last year, the Sinotruk Yellow River Snow Wax vehicle equipped with Weichai's 162kW hydrogen fuel cell system was delivered to the Winter Olympics, achieving "China's first, world-leading, and completely domestic production". On January 4, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected the Snow Wax Truck. A series of achievements indicate that "Hydrogen into ten thousand homes" is moving from blueprint to reality.
