Recently, China Harbour and the owner of the reclamation project in Pasay City, Philippines (SM Smart City Construction and Development Company) reached an agreement on the sand source and construction period of the project, and signed a supplementary agreement.

The construction period was changed from 730 days for island A and 1,095 days for island B and C to 1,155 days for island A and 1,520 days for island B and C in the original full contract.

On December 6, 2019, China Harbour received the letter of winning the bid for the Manila Bay Pasay Reclamation Project in the Philippines. The project is a design and construction contract with a contract value of US$720 million. Started on November 11, 2020.

The Pasay Reclamation Project is adjacent to the commercial center of Metro Manila and forms three artificial islands with a land area of 360 hectares in Manila Bay. The main work includes foundation trench excavation, bank protection, draught filling, foundation treatment and other construction. After the project is completed, it will effectively alleviate the shortage of land in Metro Manila, further improve the investment environment, and promote regional economic development.

By strengthening the top-level design, integrating and allocating international resources, and introducing the world's first-class dredging partner, Boskalis, the Netherlands, and reaching a cooperative relationship, CHEC injected a booster for the competitiveness of pricing and operation, and finally successfully acquired the project.

This project is currently the largest dredging and reclamation project in the Philippines, and it is also the largest project won by China Harbour in the Philippine market. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
