On the morning of January 15, 2022, 4 SDA1 diesel locomotives independently developed by CRRC Ziyang departed from Ziyang, Sichuan to Australia. This is China's first batch of diesel locomotives to be exported to developed countries in 2022.

These locomotives are the second-generation upgraded products. The second-generation upgraded SDA1 locomotives have carried out a number of optimizations on the vehicle ventilation system and locomotive maintainability.
