According to the agreement signed by the two parties, Sinovac plans to build a fully automated cold storage in Egypt that can store 150 million doses of vaccines. During the period, Liao Liqiang met with Egypt's Acting Minister of Health and Population Jafar, and the two sides exchanged views on strengthening vaccine cooperation.
Liao Liqiang said that China-Egypt anti-epidemic cooperation has continued to deepen, and vaccine cooperation has seen many bright spots. China is willing to continue to work with Egypt to strengthen confidence and help each other in the same boat. China will donate another batch of COVID-19 vaccines to Egypt to help Egypt achieve its goal of vaccinating 70% of its population by mid-2022 as soon as possible, and build a "Great Wall of Health" for the Egyptian people.
Jafar said that Egypt is grateful to China for its strong help in Egypt's fight against the epidemic.
