The Mombasa Port Oil Terminal, built in 1963, is an important channel for the import and export of oil products in Kenya and neighboring countries, and has made great contributions to the local economic development. Since the original capacity of the terminal can no longer meet the needs of Kenya's rapid economic development, Kenya began to build a new oil terminal project in 2012. China Communications Construction Co., Ltd. won the bid for the project in 2018, and construction will begin in 2019.
